根據(jù)世衛(wèi)組織遏制結(jié)核病戰(zhàn)略的設(shè)想，應(yīng)在全世界徹底消除結(jié)核病死亡、疾病和痛苦。該戰(zhàn)略確定并闡述了各國(guó)政府和合作伙伴的目標(biāo)和行動(dòng)，要求提供以病人為中心的醫(yī)療服務(wù)，實(shí)行防治政策和制度，并推動(dòng)為遏制流行疫情和消除結(jié)核病而需開展的研究工作和創(chuàng)新措施。
2015年世界防治結(jié)核病日，世衛(wèi)組織呼吁政府、受影響社區(qū)、民間社會(huì)組織、衛(wèi)生保健服務(wù)提供者以及國(guó)際合作伙伴共同努力推出這一戰(zhàn)略，以覆蓋、治療和治愈目前所有結(jié)核病患者。
2015年3月24日，是改變做法并加緊全球努力徹底消除結(jié)核病的機(jī)會(huì)。
