　　Directions: In this section, you are to write an essay of about 200 words within 40 minutes. Your essay should be based on the information given below.

　　Many people prefer to travel by air. This is because air travel has some advantages. In the first place, airplane, the miracle created by man, is the fastest means of transport. It takes the least time for one to travel by air from one place to another. Secondly, traveling by air is convenient and comfortable. Friendly air hostesses are affectionate and considerate. They look after passengers all the way to their destinations. Moreover, on long distance flights there are films and music for people to entertain themselves.

　　As a popular saying goes, “Everything has two sides.” The same is true of air travel. It has some disadvantages, too. For one thing, air travel costs a great deal. The average Chinese are not rich enough to afford expensive air fares. So they prefer to take trains, which save a lot of money. For another, although passengers are assured of their safety, they are still worried about it during the journey because flying always involves more or less risk.

　　As far as I am concerned, the advantages mentioned above exceed the disadvantages. If I were given choice between traveling by air and traveling by train, I would certainly prefer the former. For me, time is money and it is the most important thing I have to take into consideration whatever I do.

　　people travel by plane, by train, by ship, by bus. to me, the best way of traveling on a summer vacation is to go on foot.

　　on a summer vacation i travel to refresh myself and to see the countryside. when i use my feet and walk on a grass covered path or among the hills i feel detached from the noise of the city and closer to the nature. and when i travel on foot i get more freedom. i can plan my own schedule. i can choose my own route. i can stop where i like. and i can see things and people that i might miss if i travel on a train or on a bus.

　　when faster and more convenient ways for travel are becoming available, i still favor using my own feet. i get much pleasure from it.

　　August 18 we came to the Pudong Airport, this is my first plane, before my mother has been told to let me take a trip, feel the air feeling. This time actually really on the plane, and my heart was happy and nervous. Happy to be finally able to fly like a bird in the sky, can be nervous is the plane in case of failure, how to do. Thinking about the plane running up. First run slowly, and then add enough horsepower, call the sound, straight into the sky. After about ten minutes, I have a feeling of clouds. 　　八月十八日我們來到了浦東機場，這是我第一次乘飛機，以前媽媽一直說要讓我乘一趟飛機，感受空中的感覺。這次居然真的上飛機了，心里又高興又緊張。高興地是終于能像小鳥一樣在天空上飛，可緊張的是飛機萬一出故障，怎么辦。想著想著飛機跑起來了。先是慢慢跑，然后加足馬力，呼的一聲，直沖云霄。大約過了十幾分鐘，我有種騰云駕霧的`感覺。我緊張的往下看，感覺自己在云霧中穿行。

　　正當我想入非非時，突然，飛機一下搖晃起來，這時我想：糟了糟了，飛機一定出事故了，我的心一下子提到了嗓子眼。忽然，喇叭里說：“由于飛機受到了強氣流，請乘客們扣好安全帶。”哎!真是虛驚一場。又過了一個小時，飛機終于到了三亞鳳凰機場了。記住我第一次乘飛機真是有驚無險啊。
