　　Today,there are ways to protect and prepare possible sites of earthquakes from severe damage,through the following processes:earthquake engineering,earthquake preparedness,household seismic safety,seismic retrofit (including special fasteners,materials,and techniques),seismic hazard,mitigation of seismic motion,and earthquake prediction.Seismic retrofitting is the modification of existing structures to make them more resistant to seismic activity,ground motion,or soil failure due to earthquakes.With better understanding of seismic demand on structures and with our recent experiences with large earthquakes near urban centers,the need of seismic retrofitting is well acknowledged.

Some took care of the flowers and bushes, and persuaded people to keep off the grass. Around the tiger den, one group kept order to prevent accidents from happening. at the aquarium, another group worked as guides and advised visitors not to smoke. When some of us were doing cleaning, an old man praised us and said, "well done, young fellows!"

People want to find a home for them, and recently, they have set up a nature park for them in Sichuan Province,which is called "Pandas' Home. "There pandas can enjoy their life happily. There is a bamboo forest near the Pandas' Home. So the pandas can find bamboos easily which they like to eat very much.

　　Because pandas are well protected now, the number of them is

　　increasing every year. We hope that one day we will have enough pandas to set them free and let them live in the wild again.

　　跟我讀，each，each。我說。each，什么意思？的意思。小姨哦了一聲，低下頭在本子上記下幾筆。再多練幾遍，小姨！小姨一邊看著本子一邊念：each，each。唔，不錯。再來下一個。桃子，peach。我大聲說。peach，peach。小姨跟著讀了兩遍，又在本子上寫了些什么。

　　我繼續教小姨，她讀得挺認真，但總是要在本子上寫一寫。我可不管這么多，只要她讀對就行了。最后，我要小姨把剛才學的單詞讀一遍，她照著那個小本子，一個一個地念，居然全讀對了。我興奮得一蹦三尺高，這個小老師當得真不錯！

　　吃過晚飯，小姨洗衣服去了，我偷偷拿起小姨的本子，想看看她到底寫了什么。真是不看不知道，一看嚇一跳――each一尺，桃子僻起

　　我又好氣又好笑地對小姨說：要你學英語，不是漢字！給單詞注上漢字怎么能學好呢？小姨有點理虧地說：可我光看單詞不會讀呀！我只好又不厭其煩地教小姨認音標讀單詞。

　　也怪，小姨的單詞越學越好，胃口也大了。于是，我又開始教小姨英語句子。有時候，小姨學著學著就會嘮叨幾句：這外國人說話真麻煩，亂七八糟，連順序都沒有！不過說白了，媽媽學習的勁頭足足的，很快在我的指導下掌握了一些英語句子。

　　漸漸地，小姨會說了很多的英語句子和單詞，我開心極了。

Thus， we are badly in need of volunteers to assist us in organizing the relevant affairs， including reception， distribution of documents， technical support， etc。
