My Home Town我的家鄉 My home town is a beautiful place. It stands beside a wide river and is rich in fish and rice. But in the old days it was a poor and backward little town. Many people had no work. They lived a hard life. In 1949 my hometown was liberated. Since then great changes have taken place there. The streets have been widened. Factories, schools, hospitals, cinemas and theatres have sprung up one after another. The life of the people is greatly improved. I love my hometown. All the more I love its people. They are working hard so as to make it still richer and more beautiful.

Ganzhou is a very beautiful city with sound environment and pleasant climate. It is especially famous for its forestation and mountainous areas. More than 83% of Ganzhou, is characterized by many mountains.In spring, Ganzhou is covered with green and filled with hope. In summer, the trees are thriving; the flowers are in full bloom. Walking under the shadows with dear family members must be a wonderful experience. In autumn, it is cool and the breeze touches your face gently. It is also time for harvest. In winter, the climate here is cold. It doesn’t snow often. But here in Ganzhou, winter has its special charm.
Ganzhou is also rich in different kinds of resources, such as agricultural resources, land resources, timber resources, abundant water resources, valuable animal resources, rare mineral resources, and so on. I hope you will make a visit here one day.

There is a little ditch in my hometown. The gutter was clear enough to see the rock below. Sometimes there are fish in the ditch.
But one day, there was more food in the shops, and a great variety of new foods came rolling in. The children all went to buy, even the adults often visited, bought two or three. Because there are no garbage cans, everyone will throw in the little ditch.
My family, although our family does not eat snacks, do not throw garbage into the little water ditch, but cooking, laundry all have to discharge waste water, so, my family everyday to pour dirty water in the small water ditch.
Even worse, some families use the gutter as a garbage dump, and as long as the garbage can be thrown into the water ditch, even its ducks are defecating in the ditch.
The autumn has passed and the spring has come. Or two under the heavy rain, because of all sorts of waste drain is blocked, so the ditch dirty water straight out of the risk, caused the waste water flows into the yard, people have to complain of terrible rubbish removed.

There is a primary school in the village. Most of the peasants’ children are studying in college now.
